Punk it UP!

Hey there!

Hoping all my readers are upbeat and rocking in this New Year.

Where is our life headed? It's a question we all ask ourselves as we step into a new year.Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.
For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist,to survive, but to move ahead,to go up,to challenge,to achieve, and to conquer.

Life is like riding a bike and to keep your balance, you must keep moving.
Let 2017 be the year when your life becomes more happening.

And talking about the most happening and in thing in this chilly Winter is Leather jacket...the essentials and the must haves.

Leather jackets are designed for many purposes and specific styles have been associated with subcultures such as greasers, motorcyclists, military aviators, police and music subcultures(punk, goths, metalheads, rivetheads),who have worn the garment for protective or fashionable reasons.
A leather jacket could be used to shape a character, providing an important ingredient used to define the very essence of 'cool'.
Iconic leather jacket worn in movies like The Terminator,Top Gun,The Matrix are among major trendsetters.

To create a potentially intimidating appearance, invest in the ultimate go-to-piece-the leather jacket.

Stand out,be bold, be the punk of your group.

To check out my style statements...go ahead and have a look at my Harley Trunk.

For me,New Year brings luck & success in the upcoming year.It marks a date of newly found happiness...Though I feel all the days of the year should be equally lived and celebrated but yes,New Year's Day according to the Gregorian calendar(Jan.1) is one of the most popular occasions all over the world. Many people all around the globe cover thousands of miles to celebrate this festivity with their loved ones.
People dress-up in trendy and stylish outfits and indulge in candle-light dinners, night long dance parties, merriment, fireworks, concerts, etc., surprising and greeting the special someones as the clock ticks 12.
The age-old tradition of planning new resolutions for the coming year is common sight too.

So hey 2016...the year gone by... you are almost done...and now it's time to wave you good bye...though you surely will be missed...but its actually time...so Adios 2016!!!     &
Welcome the New Year...
Hola 2017!!!

Get,set,detox!

Workout mode!!!
Hey fellas!

How are you all doing!?!Ummmmmm...let me take a guess...Binged a lot...LOL!!!
Had too much aerated drinks?or indulged in too much sweets? Those tempting Bengali mithais & assorted varieties of ladoos...and also those sinful but heavenly chocolate delights?Face it,post festivity high is always accompanied with a crash where you feel guilty of indulging too much.Since we tend to overindulge on food with a high salt, sugar and trans fat content,it is important to burn it off...Want to know how...continue reading...
1.Beat Sugar:Okay, you have had tons of sweets and chocolates.Still craving for more? The deal with refined sugar is if you have few sweets, your body gets an insulin-rush and demands more sugar. It's a vicious cycle-sugar feeds sugar.
Beat it:Get out of this 'i want more sugar' mindset because it's like an addiction...heard of Sugar Coma!?!That's exactly what I am referring to over here. You can start eating foods rich in fat and protein to help slow down your digestion.Nuts are great for the purpose-pick almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts,raisins,cranberries...your choice.High-fibre veggies and fruits are also good to have when you are trying to detox. The ideal breakfast the day after indulging in sweets should be something high in protein, moderate in fat and low in carbs.Like a glass of milk with omelette,a bowl of sprouts, cereal, salads, fresh fruit juices like orange, tangerines, berries, watermelon, grapes, pineapple, sweet lime or kiwi.
2.Overcome Oil:If you have ODed on ghee-laden Puri's and heavy curries then you are feeling bloated.
Beat it: Don't sleep right after a heavy meal.Shun oil-based foods for the next 3-4 days.Hydrate, hydrate and hydrate-by having lots of water, coconut water, lime water and nourishing vegetable soups. If at all you need oil,use olive oil, canola oil and coconut oil.
3.Avoid carbonated drinks: Drinks are dehydrating.Tank up on healthy fluids.
Beat it:Lime water works best. Also, eating fruits with high water content will help in detoxifying the kidneys and liver.
4.Step up your Exercising regime:Atleast 30 minutes of workout at the gym or in the form of brisk walking, jogging, swimming, cyclying, gardening,a game of Badminton/Tennis will help burn off the extra calories.

So that's about it and you are all set.

Getting motivated,aren't we!?!

Com'mon then! Let's Doll up with me and get going to detox your festive gluttony.

Take good care,
XX

Few hacks to stay healthy during the festive season

Hey there! Happy Diwali to all!!!

Rejoice!!!
Hope you all are having a great time and enjoying.
It's that time of the year again when there's a party, wedding or festival every other week.Yet,the celebrations have a flip side,as the high intake of rich food especially the Indian sweets can take a toll on your health.
Mindful eating is the way to go,as you can have your fill without it affecting your food.
1.Eat smaller portions and only what you love:A clever way of reducing your food intake is to focus on your favourite dishes. It is wise to take a round of all the food that is available and then pick up and eat only what you love the most, rather than over-eating and consuming the wrong food. This way you enjoy what you eat and limit the portion size.
2.Don't skip meal:It is common to skip a meal during the day to make up for excessive intake at a dinner party. However, this can leave you hungry and in turn, consume more food later at night.Instead, opt for light healthy meals through the day.
3.Have a light snack before going for a party:This can keep your hunger pangs in check and prevent you from bringing on unhealthy food at the party.Have salads or soups,so that you are partially full before a party, and can balance your indulgence.
4.Keep the fluids intake high:Ensure that you stay hydrated throughout the day by consuming ample water,Lemonade, fresh lime soda or coconut water. It helps you detoxify and you also tend to eat less in the long run.
5.Take super foods to aid digestion:Super foods speed up the body's metabolism.Aloe juice in the morning can be a good option.Vegetable juices made with beetroot, bottle gourd, apple, tomato or ginger are also good for boosting metabolism.
6.Detox with Fruits &Vegetables:After a night of eating heavy,it is advisable to go on a light diet of fruits and veggies in different colours.Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants which help in removing the body toxins.
7.Eat High-Calorie foods before 10PM:Try to indulge in your cravings for High-Calorie foods before 10PM,when the basal metabolic rate is at its lowest.

Try taking these above mentioned cheats to help yourself to stay fit in coming days.
And like always,Stay Healthy....Stay Beautiful!!!
